Cultural Chronology


The shaded area in this chronology represents the cultural phases of the El Brujo Site Complex. Most recent excavations at El Brujo by the Moche Foodways archaeological Project have focused on the Moche occupation of the site during the late Early Intermediate Period and the Middle Horizon. Excavations in 1998 included sampling of deposits dating to the Cupisnique, Moche, and Chimu phases.
